The new Ticketek app for iPhone and iPod touch; Browse, Buy, Experience!

Posted 13 December, 2012

Launched today in Australia and New Zealand, the new Ticketek App for iPhone and iPod touch takes ticketing to a new level, offering a simple and intuitive platform to browse events, purchase tickets and share event experiences with friends.

The app is the latest addition to Ticketek's market-leading mobile suite which already includes a fully-optimised mobile site and mobile tickets which support Apple's Passbook.

Featuring a What's On guide, the app uses location services to display a calendar of events happening nearby, while also providing fans with the convenience of Ticketek's mCommerce platform to purchase tickets to any event on the go and have their mobile tickets automatically added to their personal Ticket Wallet within the app.

The unique social sharing feature Friend Spotter has been developed exclusively for the Ticketek App and uses state-of-the-art augmented reality technology to allow Facebook friends locate each other instantly in a crowd using their iPhone camera viewfinder.

"This app is about making ticketing more streamlined and convenient for our customers, while providing the tools to enhance their event experience," said Cameron Hoy, Managing Director, Ticketek Australia.

"We are seeing a rapid shift in the way customers purchase tickets, with close to 30% of our digital traffic coming through the mobile platform. Mobile is the future in this industry, and our new app extends our existing market-leading mobile platform to create a more engaged experience for fans."

"In a world-first, our new social sharing feature Friend Spotter uses cutting edge technology to link fans socially at an event. We see our iPhone app as an opportunity to take the event experience beyond the ticket, and provide a real-time means for fans to connect with friends and share their event experiences."

The Ticketek App is available for free from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore. For more information on Ticketek's locally developed mobile platform, visit www.ticketek.com.au/mobile.

Ticketek launches new website

Posted 26 July, 2012

Ticketek Australia has relaunched Australia's number one Entertainment Events website* TICKETEK.COM.AU, providing a more enriched customer experience to 1.9 million unique visitors every month.

The new-look website features streamlined navigation and design with advanced personalisation technology to optimise engagement and maximise event promotion.

The new website builds on the recent personalisation of the home page, where content is tailored to customers based on their location and event preferences. A new 'What's On' section complements the 'My Events' module, allowing customers to further refine their search by date and genre to access events they are interested in with a single click.

These enhancements have been combined with more interactive display features to engage customers, including video streaming within the new hero image placement and deeper social media integration to strengthen the power of peer recommendation.

Ticketek Australia's Managing Director, Cameron Hoy said, "The new Ticketek website has been designed to make it even easier to connect fans to events, by providing more intuitive pathways to access information and tickets. There are also great benefits for our client partners, with a significant increase in home page inventory and increased engagement with fans through the use of rich video content."

Cameron Hoy said that usability has played a key part in designing the new website and providing customers with a cleaner interface.

"Following the successful launch of our mobile site over a year ago, we are continually looking to develop innovative products and services that provide customers with an optimal digital experience, irrespective of the device they are using. After seeing a 617% increase in iPad visits to ticketek.com.au over 12 months, this new-look website has been designed with the tablet market in mind, and will provide a seamless experience across all platforms."

The revamped website was developed locally by Ticketek Australia's in-house technology team and is now live at www.ticketek.com.au.
